Morocco Tour/ Ten Days
Day 1
Casablanca / Rabat
Welcome at Casablanca Mohamed V airport. We take a sightseeing tour of Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco. This will include an exterior visit of the Hassan II Great Mosque, one of the Islamic world's greatest monuments. We proceed with a visit of the Place Mohammed V, the United Nations Square, and the surroundings of the Royal Palace before strolling along the Aïn Diab corniche. After lunch we depart for Rabat. Visit of the administrative capital of Morocco and the splendid Mohamed V Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower and Place des Oudayas. Late in the afternoon, we check-in at the hotel and finish the day with a Welcome dinner. D
Day 2
Rabat / Meknes / Fez
After breakfast, we leave for Fez with a stop at the Roman ruins of Volubilis and the sacred town of Moulay Idriss I, where the founder of Islam in Morocco is buried. After lunch we leave for Meknes or " the Moroccan Versailles " which was founded at the end of the 17th Century by Moulay Ismail. Highlights will include Bab Mansour, Hari Souani and the old medina. We continue to Fez and check-in at the hotel. B,L
Day 3
Fez
The whole day will be devoted to the sightseeing of Fez, the oldest cultural and spiritual imperial city of Morocco, which was founded in 790 B.C by Moulay Idriss II. Highlights will include the Medieval Medina, the Medersas (an Islamic teaching university), the El Qaraouiyyin Mosque and the sumptuous Nejjarine fountain. After lunch, we visit the "Arabian House" to observe various craftsmen performing their work reminiscent of ancient practices. B,L
Day 4
Fez / Midelt / Erfoud
After an early breakfast, we head to Erfoud through the Middle Atlas region. We stop in Azrou to visit a Berber village known for its handicraft cooperative. After lunch we continue to Midelt (an important mining center) and to the Ziz River through a series of fortified villages characterized by fascinating southern architecture. We arrive in Erfoud for check-in at the hotel. B,L
Day 5
Erfoud / Rissani / Ouarzazate
Today, we will have a very early morning for our transfer in land rover to the beautiful Merzouga Dunes. Here, you will enjoy a camel ride on the gorgeous sand dunes of Merzouga. After witnessing the sumptuous sunrise off the Merzouga Dunes, we will return to the hotel for breakfast before our departure to Tineghir via the holy city of Rissani, a site where the ancestors of the Alaouite Dynasty are buried in the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Sherif. Visit of the ruins of Ksar Abbar, a Kasbah that dates from the 17th century. We continue through the Tinjdad road full of sumptuous Kasbahs and palm groves. After lunch, we visit the Todra Gorges with their impressive bare escarpments. Then its on to Ouarzazate via El Kelaa M'gouna and the Dades Valley. B,D
Day 6
Ouarzazate / Ait Ben Haddou / Marrakesh
After breakfast, visit of Ouarzazate with Tifoultout and Taourirt Kasbahs, then departure to Ait Ben Haddou village. There we visit the ancient Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou and continue via the Tiz-In-Tichka pass (2,260m of altitude) and Taddert to Marrakesh. B,D
Day 7
Marrakesh
The day will be devoted to the sightseeing of Marrakesh, the second oldest imperial city known as the " Pearl of the South " and home to the Saâdian tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace and the Menara Garden. In the afternoon, exploration of the souks and the world's famous Djemaâ El Fna place which offers various entertainments (story tellers, acrobats, snake-charmers,, magicians, etc.). Later on, a special Diffa Fantasia dinner will be provided under caïdal tents at the famed " Chez Ali " restaurant. Enjoy the fantasia spectacle that includes camel and horse shows, folkloric troops from different Moroccan regions and belly dancers. B,D
Day 8
Marrakesh / Essaouira
After breakfast, We head to Essaouira. After a seafood lunch, we have a sightseeing tour of the city with its typical Portuguese harbor that portrays both Moorish and Portuguese art. Highlights will include the fishing harbor and the Skala (the Battery) left by the pirates. B,L
Day 9
Essaouira / El Jadida / Casablanca
After breakfast, departure to Casablanca via El Jadida with a stop at El Oualidia for lunch. We continue along the Atlantic coast with a stop in El Jadida. B,L
Day 10
Casablanca/JFK
After breakfast, departure to Mohamed V airport for return flight and assistance with the boarding formalities. B
